Stratton Recreation Area
About

The Stratton Recreation Area is a four season adaptive/family friendly multi-use trail.  on teh property there is a playground, a volleyball court, basketball court a picnic area, several double track trails and two new adaptive/family friendly trails that are open to hiking and mountain bikes. The new trails on the property were made possible through a $17,500 RTP grant though VT forest, park and rec, a VMBA trail grant for $5,500 and a Naming Grant from Motorex for $2.500 and several hundred volunteer hours.

The Stratton Recreation Area is what we consider the next step in difficulty from the trails on the south side of  the Trails at Crosstown with the trails at Stratton Town Forest being the next step in difficulty. All of the new trails are being built to support aMTB traffic and select trails will support the use of adaptive mobility devices.

Trail descriptions and routes

Meetinghouse Trail:
Distance: 0.80 Miles, Elevation +-230ft

The trail is a and adaptive/family friendly bi-directional multi-use trail that has a gentle +-5% grade and winds its way up to the top of the property. There are a few benches / places to rest along the way to take in the views of the forest. Don’t forget to take some time to check out the very large glacial erratic about halfway up

We would suggest this trail as then next in progression from the Sherwood/Nottingham/Friar Tuck loop at Crosstown

We would suggest this trail as then next in progression from the Sherwood/Nottingham/Friar Tuck loop at Crosstown
