Fundraising

Over the last year, SoVTA has made huge strides in creating more recreational resources such as family friendly and adaptive trails, winter programs and community service opportunities for our local youth, community members and visitors to the area. As part of the mission of Southern Vermont Trails Association, these resources will always free of charge for those who wish to use them. Grants from the Vermont Community Foundation, the Lintilhac Foundation, Ranch Camp and the Vermont Mountain Bike Association have helped fund the development of these trails and community programs. With funding from these key organizations we have been able to build the first 2 miles of adaptive/family friendly multi-use trail at the Stratton Town Forest. This project is planned for 10 miles, 50% we plan to open by next summer. Generous grants from these organizations and other private donations have also funded the Youth Kiosk Service Project for Crosstown, the planning and permitting for the rebuild of The Trails at Crosstown this summer, the completion of an Advanced Backcountry Zone at the Dover Town Forest and winter programing which features our youth adventure program and weekend educational clinics.
These projects and programs are costly and labor intensive to execute. Grants alone only cover part of the cost associated with the development and continued maintenance of our communities recreational trail network and programs.
Below you can find a few ways you can contribute directly to continue the development of the Trail projects and offering of our community programing. We are eternally grateful for your support.

You have the opportunity to help shape the unique aesthetic design features of this new trail system. These benches will help create places for users to connect and build community. Each sponsored bench will have a dedication plate attached to it. We invite you to participate as much as you want in the process of building and installing your bench. Each sponsored bench will have a dedication plate attached to it. By participating in this program, you will be a part of funding trail projects and youth programing in the Southern Vermont Region.  Southern Vermont Trail Association and the users of its networks sincerely thank you.
