The Southern Vermont Trails Association is made up of a diverse group of individuals from our community that have a passion for outdoor recreation. Every year they donate hundreds of hours to create, build and maintain new recreation resources for the Southern Vermont region.

    To expand the backcountry recreational opportunities and accessibility for my community and myself.

    How do you think SoVTA can positively impact our communities.
    SOVTA is providing recreational opportunities that do not have a price of entry, while attracting visitors to our economic community.

    Backcountry skiing

    Why did you join SoVTA?
    I joined SoVTA because I am passionate about hiking, biking, skiing, and snowboarding and wanted to help make an impact on the feasibility of those sports in our area.

    How do you think SoVTA can positively impact our communities.
    Outdoor recreation is a critical part of the Southern Vermont culture and tourist driven economy . Maintaining & creating new trails offers great opportunities to get out and explore this beautiful region for both our residents and visitors alike.

    What is your favorite outdoor activity to do in our area?
    Skiing

    Why did you join SoVTA?
    To help support summer and winter human powered recreation in the town of Dover. Because I love to be outside and to see places benefit from trail areas.

    How do you think SoVTA can positively impact our communities.
    SoVTA can help provide free to use outside recreation areas that help build a sense of place, community and conservation behaviors in our local and surrounding areas.

    Why did you join SoVTA?
    I wanted to be a part of an organization that is helping to strengthen and build trail systems and backcountry zones in our community and helping to spread love and enjoyment of all the outdoor recreation opportunities that those provide. I am an avid mountain biker, skier and runner and love being a part of an organization that lets me share those passions with others.

    How do you think SoVTA can positively impact our communities.
    By working to maintain and expand the trails and backcountry zones in our area and leading guided tours and group rides to help spread our love of biking and ski/snowboard touring with the community around us.

    What is your favorite outdoor activity to do in our area?
    Mountain biking and skiing (I can’t pick just one!)

    I wear many hats, but typically I am a Bartender / snow cat operator / ski patroller

    Why did you join SoVTA?
    I joined the SoVTA because I love the backcountry and being outside with my dogs! I also care about my community, and feel like it’s important to be involved in the growth of the programs relating to recreation, tourism and hospitality, because they are defining characteristics of the area.

    How do you think SoVTA can positively impact our communities.
    SoVTA positively impacts our community in many ways, to name a few; the opportunities they provide by creating a well-marked, safe, outdoor spaces for countless recreational activities, and the programs they coordinate for the local schools.

    What is your favorite outdoor activity to do in our area?
    I love so many outdoor activities our area has to offer it is hard to pick a favorite, but I would have to say, snowboarding the sport that brings me the most joy in life.

    The only thing that will get me out of bed before 6 am with a smile on my face is a powder day with the prospect of endless fresh lines in the DTF
